Folio Bound Views is a desktop application that lets you browse and search your online code without being connected to the Internet. This article will show you how to install the program on a computer. For information on network installation, see the Install Folio Bound Views on Multiple Workstations article.
Instructions
- Open the email you received from us with a direct link to our Download Archive
- Click the Folio link in the email to download the .zip file
- Navigate to the downloaded file
- Unzip the file
Note: If you are using a computer with Windows 7 or higher, simply right-click the .zip file and select Extract All to unzip it. - Ensure the Show extracted files when complete box is checked, and click Extract
- Double click setup.exe once the files are extracted
Note: If you are running Windows 8, you may be presented with a screen that says "Windows Protected your PC." If you receive that message, click more info, then click Run Anyway. If User Account Control pops up and asks if you want this program to make changes to your computer, click Yes. - Select Next on the initial installer screen
- Accept the license agreement and click Next
- Enter your username and organization name (optional)
- Click Next
- Select Single User - Local Install
- Click Next
- Accept the default installation path and click Next
- Click Install
- Uncheck the Show Readme File checkbox
- Leave the Launch box checked to open Folio now, or uncheck the box to open the application at a later time
You'll find a shortcut to the Folio application in two locations:
- Start > All Programs > Municipal Code Corporation
- Your Desktop
If you lose or delete the shortcuts, the Folio Infobase (the file that contains your publication's data) can be located here: C:\ProgramData\<municipalityname>\
